An Introduction to the National Portrait Gallery

Step into London's National Portrait Gallery to get a glimpse of the world's most extensive collection of portraits. Opened in 1856, it now also hosts an array of interactive events including Late Shift, Weekend Workshops, and Lunchtime Lectures - this is much more than just a curated collection of art!

During your visit, stop for a bite in the Portrait Restaurant & Bar, before continuing your exploration. Perfectly placed between Trafalgar Square and Leicester Square, you'll find there are a number of ways to get there, or perhaps plan your route by foot and stroll along the city pavements to enjoy the local shops and sights.
