Bhutan: A Happy Place

Seems happiness is located somewhere on this earth, and we know exactly where.

The quality of life is important to all of us, but to the Bhutanese, it seems more so that they even created the term ‘Gross National Happiness’ to actually measure it – talk about going that extra mile. The term was created in 1972 by Bhutan’s former King, Jigme Singye Wangchuck, to show his commitment and love for his country. In creating the term, it allowed Bhutan to build an economy that would benefit its unique culture based on Buddhist spiritual values.

GNH is determined by a list of different indicators, and the process has even been used by the government to assist with their decision makings. So want some of that happiness for yourself? Then let us know, and we’ll get you to that happy place.
