Believed to be only 12 of these big, friendly giants left walking free in Knysna forest, these elusive and incredible creatures are surrounded by an air of mystery. Rarely seen by anyone, due to the small numbers and the sheer size of the forest, the search to catch a rare glimpse is made even more exciting – did we mention they are the only ones living in this area of the country?

It’s only human nature to feel intrigued by the mystery – we most certainly are.
